Fortune’s Series entitled “The Business of Green” featured Raser Technologies’ Chairman, Kraig Higginson, to discuss geothermal’s rise in the energy sector. 

The Fortune news piece, which can be found here… (choose the video clip on the right entitled “Geothermal goes full steam ahead”) is not only excellent exposure for Raser but a very informative look at Geothermal energy as a whole.

While much of the segment was filmed on the location of Raser’s newly built Utah plant with Mr. Higginson, Fortune also conducted interviews with Joseph Moore PhD, a researcher at the University of Utah and Mr. Gary Herbert, Lt. Governor of Utah.

It was many years ago that Jimmy Carter had solar panels installed on the white house roof and offered tax credits to Americans using solar energy.  Ronald Reagan, in a somewhat thumb-his-nose at prior administration maneuver, had the solar panels removed and the tax credits eliminated.  While Reagan probably assumed he was squashing frivolous spending, it goes to show how long we have seen renewable energy as our next step in environmental evolution. 

Coming full circle, the army now plans to acquire 4,000 electric vehicles for non-combat use on military bases (and potentially even replacing all non-combat cars which number in the 30,000’s). Read the rest of this entry »

Raser Technologies Inc. (NYSE: RZ) shares recently qualified to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange “Big Board” Monday under the ticker RZ.

We feel that the move is great for investors as Raser’s stock now trades on the largest, most liquid market in the entire world and is now exposed to the broadest spectrum of investors possible. Regulation in the marketplace is second to none, so we may likely see an end to the perceived manipulation on behalf of market makers that has plagued the stock recently and kept some savvy investors on the sidelines. (NYSE:RZ) made National news today flooding every major online news outlet with the headline “Utah Startup Hits Geothermal Jackpot”.  RZ a small Utah based company erected and brought on line a power plant just six months after discovering massive geothermal fields in order to capitalize on state mandates for alternative energy.  RZ is just one of the many companies that are taking advantage of these renewable energy mandates which has ignited a rush on land leases in order to secure property with geothermal fields that could potentially generate enormous profits.
