IT Spending Remains Solid

"IDC says tech spending on track, but US slowdown showing up in other parts of the world"

IDC stated the expectation today that overall IT spending will grow about 4 percent in the U.S. this year, down from 6 percent growth last year. In addition, Gartner Inc.,stated today that “worldwide IT services revenue grew 10.5 percent in 2007, to $748 billion”.

This strong growth, combined with strong first-quarter results for market leaders, runs counter to the gloomy and widespread economic concerns arising in the United States,” said Kathryn Hale, research vice president for Gartner’s worldwide IT services group, in a statement.
